Won 1964 'Big Beat Contest'. Manager was Don Peters.
Formed at school in the early 60s as The Electrons with addition of girl vocalist Carol Saunders became Carol and the Electrons. Demoed for Tony Hatch at Pye. Played at lot on the Leicester club Scene built a huge fan base there. Carol sand at the Hen Lane Club prior to the band and it was their first gig around 1963.

Carol and the Electrons, who won the Big Beat Contest last year, are managed by Mr Don Peters. Their latest success was the winning of a talent contest at Radford Social Club when they competed agains club artisits from all over the Midlands.
"In view of the fact that the beat boom seems to be on the decline we are not now considering a professional career." he said.
Three of the four lads have apprenticeships in Coventry and Carol works at a city motor factory. It would not be worth their while to abandon their careers.
Carol Saunders is the strong voiced vocalist and the rest of the line up is Brian Whittle, Allen Johnson, Brian Meek, and Mick Peters. All except Mick, are 18 years old. He is 16, Carol just 17.
